That’s a wise question. You can begin reading God’s Word anywhere. However, where you start depends on what you want to accomplish.
- If you want to know if God really loves you personally, start by looking at this verse: John 3:16. The notes for this verse contain a link to another verse in a series of verses. We have created these lists of links especially for you.
- If you have specific questions, you may want to look for the answers on our “Topics” page.
- If you would like to look for a Bible passage that applies to your current feelings and situation, take a look at “What to read When…”
- Many people enjoy beginning to read the Injil with John 1:1.
- If you would like to read the Tawrat, begin with Genesis 1:1.
- If you would like to read the Zabur, begin with Psalm 1.
- If you would like to read all the Injil, begin with Matthew 1:1. This is also where the notes which we have written for you begin.
The order of the Bible books is mostly in the order events happened. It begins with creation in Genesis and ends with Judgment Day and eternal life in the book of Revelation. However, don’t feel obliged to start at the beginning. Many people feel that they have to start at the beginning and quit because they have to read a long time to get their questions answered.
